Video: Drilling to install monitor (04:55)

In 2007, the Water Research Laboratory undertook a commercial project investigating the feasibility of using managed aquifer recharge (MAR) to manage local stormwater at a South Sydney site. As part of the project, a number of piezometers were installed into the aquifer across the site using a drill rig. The piezometers and drilling investigations were used to undertake water quality testing and characterise the aquifer. This footage shows the drilling process and installation of a piezometer.
