A groundwater field day is being hosted at the Breeza Research Station, Liverpool Plains on Thursday 20th October, starting at 9am.

Talks and demonstrations on water research will be provided by the NCGRT research team from UNSW, and research partners from the NSW Department of Primary Industries, followed by a BBQ lunch. Groundwater research on the Liverpool Plains is focused on interaction between clayey sediments (aquitards) and aquifers in the top 40m of the alluvial geology.

Come along and hear about current research!

Information on aquitard research is available here:

The field day follows a NCGRT project discovery workshop that was held in August in Gunnedah. Among the many presentations, Dr Wendy Timms provided an overview of aquitard research, and Dr Anna Greve explained new geophysical methods that are being developed to track moisture storage on the Liverpool Plains.
